THE COUNCIL

 

The Council consists of 9 members under the chairmanship of Rev Vince Jennings , Pastor of South Beach Baptist Church, Saltcoats. The Council is responsible for implementing the strategic aims of Campaigners and giving direction to its day-to-day running. Council Members are unpaid but all have had considerable experience of working with young people as a volunteer leader in a Campaigner centre.

REVEREND VINCE JENNINGS - CHAIRMAN

REVEREND VINCE JENNINGS - CHAIRMAN

Rev Vince Jennings was brought up in England and had a career in the Merchant Navy and the Fishermen’s Mission before training for 4 years in the Baptist Theological College in Glasgow. In 1996 he accepted a call to South Beach Baptist Church in Saltcoats where he became involved both as Chaplain and a leader in their thriving Campaigner clan. Vince has served as Chairman of Campaigners Scotland since 2008. He and his wife, Elaine have 3 grown up boys and 6 grandchildren.

DAVID DOWIE

 

DAVID DOWIE - TREASURER

David served in local government from 1972 until his retirement. Since 1976 he has been a leader with Buckhaven Campaigners in Fife. For 10 years he organised and ran camps, also acting as a District and Area Chief. David is also a Trustee.

SANDY FINLAY

 

SANDY FINLAY

Sandy has been involved in the Campaigner movement since 1979, serving as a leader in the Free North Church, Inverness, where he is an elder. For about 20 years he acted as Area Chief for the Highland area. Sandy is Head of the RME department at Inverness Royal Academy.

GRACE FRASER

 

GRACE FRASER

Grace brings a wealth of experience to Campaigners, having started her working life in the London Office during the time of Rev Colin Kerr, the founder of Campaigner Ministries. Grace then embarked on a career in nursing at the same time helping with Campaigner clans and camps, and serving as a District and Area Chief up to and after her retirement.

LESLIE MOORE

LESLIE MOORE

Les is an accountant with North Lanarkshire Council and has been involved with Campaigners since becoming a leader in Stepps in 1980. He was Treasurer of Campaigners in Scotland from 1988 to 2006. Les is also a Trustee and a member of the Council’s Finance Sub Committee.

MHAIRI MOORE

MHAIRI MOORE

Mhairi is a school teacher in Glasgow and has been involved with Campaigners since becoming a leader in Stepps in 1978. She served for a long time with the Scottish Council of the former UK Campaigner Ministries, specialising in leadership training.

ALAN VEALS

ALAN VEALS

Alan moved to the Isle of Lewis 25 years ago. For the past 19 years he has been involved with Campaigners. Before that he was employed by a clearing bank in Liverpool.

GWEN WALLACE

GWEN WALLACE

Gwen teaches in a secondary school. Her family have had an involvement with Campaigners for many years and she has come up through all sections of the movement over the last 35 years. Gwen currently works in KidzZone in the Saltcoats Centre and, given the impact they have had on her Christian life, she is very involved in summer camps.

ANNE MUIRDEN

ANNE MUIRDEN

Anne is part-time administrator for Campaigners and Secretary to the Council. From 1985 to 2005 she was a Campaigner leader in the Free North Church, Inverness where she still worships. Anne formerly worked in the Executive Office of Highlands & Islands Enterprise.
